How the Alt-Right Taught the Vice President to Whisper the Blood Libel
A movement built on rage and paranoia has mainstreamed anti-Semitism so effectively that even J.D. Vance ignores its language.
At a Turning Point USA event this week, a young man said something that should have been met with instant moral outrage. Instead, the Vice President of the United States treated it as a legitimate question.
He claimed to be “confused why this idea of supporting Israel has come around, considering that not only does their religion not agree with ours, but also openly supports the persecution of ours,” and then accused Israel of committing “ethnic cleansing in Gaza.”
That is not confusion. It is anti-Semitism in plain sight. And J.D. Vance, instead of rejecting it with moral conviction, responded with a cold lecture about “America First.”
“When the president of the United States pursues the interests of Americans first, that is our entire foreign policy,” Vance said. Sometimes America’s and Israel’s interests align, sometimes they do not. Then came the line that revealed how deep the moral decay has gone: “People say Israel is somehow manipulating or controlling the President of the United States. They’re not controlling this President.”
“This President.” The meaning was obvious. It implied that past presidents—Biden, Obama, and George W. Bush—were controlled by Israel. With one careless phrase, the Vice President of the United States echoed one of the most poisonous lies in history: that Jews secretly control governments and act against others for their own gain. That lie fueled pogroms, expulsions, and genocide. It should have been crushed immediately.
Even worse, Vance left untouched two other slanders. He said nothing to counter the charge of “ethnic cleansing.” He said nothing to reject the insane notion that Judaism persecutes Christianity. He moved on as if such hatred were just another policy disagreement.
That was not restraint. It was cowardice.
Israel is not cleansing Gaza. It is defending itself against Hamas, a terrorist cult that raped, burned, and butchered civilians on October 7. Hamas does not seek peace. It seeks extermination. Any moral leader should have said so.
And the claim that Judaism attacks Christianity is not ignorance; it is the sewage of the alt-right media machine. These are the same propagandists who spread lies about Jewish control of government and finance while wrapping themselves in the flag. They call it “asking questions.” It is not questioning. It is the old blood libel, reborn for the digital age.
The truth is that the alt-right ecosystem has made hatred of Jews fashionable again. What began on message boards is now repeated on talk shows and campaign stages. When the Vice President echoes its language, it means the infection has reached the highest levels of power.
Vance’s failure was not just silence. It was proof that this moral sickness has entered the bloodstream of American conservatism. The movement that once championed moral clarity now toys with conspiracies that would have disgusted its heroes.
The threat is not only from those who hate Israel but from those within the right who give ancient hatred a new platform. When lies this vile can be spoken in public and met with calm acceptance, the line between truth and evil collapses.
If conservatives do not confront this now, the movement will rot from within. The world’s oldest hatred has returned, speaking the language of patriotism and pretending to defend faith. It must be named, exposed, and defeated before it poisons everything decent left in American public life.

Every word you write I agree with. This made me very uncomfortable. When people ask me my religion I say Judeo-Christian.
This same kid asked questions to Glen Beck. The only problem I had with Beck’s responses were that he didn’t dispel the assertion that AIPAC is an Israeli lobby: it is not.
This connivance has to be called out. Thanks for the post.
Yes, this is exhausting. But it is OUR fight against antisemitism over in America. We must rise to the occasion! A Maya Angelou quote comes to mind. "No problem was ever solved by ignoring it." Pointing out that the left-winged poisonous snake is biting more people will do nothing to remove the right-winged snake.
We will merely end up with TWO poisonous snakes in our backyard, rather than one. Vice President Vance is appeasing the smaller Christian Nationalism snake. That only helps it grow.
And who is the target of that snake? Jewish & Christian Zionists.
The right-wing will stop being a refuge for pro-Israel Americans if we allow the madness to continue. We fight back by publicly speaking out against the Woke Reich and risk being ostracized.
